This dialog is invoked by the Change Patient command on the Special menu , which affects the current active simulation, and by the Patient Parameters tab on the Options command of the Tools menu, which affects new simulations.
In both cases, this dialog lets you alter the patient's vital statistics. Select the preferred units by pressing the 'Kilograms' or 'Pounds' button, then type the weight of the patient in the Weight box. Give the liter volume of the patient's alveoli, vessel rich tissue, muscle, fat, and veins in the Volumes box. Enter the percentage of cardiac output directed to vessel rich, muscle, and fat body compartments. Choose per-minute ventilation and cardiac output rates. Press 'OK' to confirm your choices and continue; press 'CANCEL' to continue without changing the patient weight.
When you change patient weight, Gas Man® automatically scales the volumes (linearly) and the metabolic rates (allometrically), and changes the breathing rate (see manual).
NOTE: Changing the patient weight will change the FGF setting proportionately in a closed circuit.
