Multiple Agent Simulations
Gas Man® is capable of simulating the use of multiple, concurrent agents. Follow
these steps to create a multiple agent simulation:
-
Start a new simulation (See File New) and select the anesthetic you wish to use
as the primary anesthetic.
- Adjust the initial settings as you normally would.
-
Select an agent from the Click To Add drop down menu in the
control panel
.
-
Adjust the vaporizer (DEL), unit dose, and cost parameters as required for the new
anesthetic.
Additional agents may be added by repeating the last two steps. However, you must
remember these rules:
- You cannot add the same agent twice.
- You can only add agents at the start of a simulation.
-
While Gas Man® permits you to add and change agents at the start of an existing
simulation (after you open a saved simulation or after you rewind), Gas Man®
treats such changes as revisions, so it will erase the saved results and adjustments
from the revision (time zero) forward, essentially starting a new simulation. (This
will not affect the saved version.)
NOTE: The above rules imply that, to change anesthetics (realistically) during
a simulation, you should start with both agents and a zero vaporizer setting for
one of them. To switch, turn off the vaporizer for the first agent and turn on the
vaporizer for the second.
