Bookmarks and Targets pause the simulation at specified times or under specific conditions. You set and remove them using this dialog box, invoked from the Special menu .
To set a bookmark, select the hour, minute, and second to pause, then press 'ADD BOOKMARK'. The simulation will pause when the elapsed simulated time reaches the specified time. To remove a bookmark, select it by clicking on the time, then press 'DELETE BOOKMARK'. To remove all bookmarks, press 'DELETE ALL BOOKMARKS'.
To set a target, select the compartment in the drop-down ('At'), select a partial pressure as a percent of Minimum Alveolar Concentration ('%MAC'), and press 'ADD TARGET'. The simulation will pause when the tension in the selected compartment reaches the selected pressure. Note that this can happen multiple times during a simulation, and a target can be reached from below (induction) or above (emergence).
If there are multiple anesthetics in effect, the target refers to the sum of the individual MAC values for all anesthetics. For example, a concentration of primary anesthetic at 90%MAC plus a concentration of additional anesthetic at 10%MAC will cause the simulation to trip a target of 100% (one) MAC.
To remove a target, select it by clicking on it in the list, then press 'DELETE TARGET'. To remove all targets, press 'DELETE ALL TARGETS'.
When you are done making changes, press 'OK' to confirm the new bookmark list is correct; press 'CANCEL' to continue without changing the bookmark list.
